Audrey Johnson - Music Graduate

I graduated with a BA Hons in Music from Southampton University in 2010. My degree taught me a lot about performing, composing and in-depth music theory. Straight after graduating, I began teaching instrumental lessons. I started in music schools in the UK and Singapore, and now I teach privately.

"Thank you Audrey for encouraging me and helping me to pass graded exams! I really enjoy your classes, and practising what you teach me. It is still possible to fulfil my dream to learn piano, even in my forties!" - Hao Xu

Learning the Piano

It is arguably the ultimate brain training.

Scientifically proven to change your brain for the better, it's fascinating what happens while you play. Learning to move your hands and fingers totally independently has been thought to benefit children through improving their general learning capabilities.

No matter what your previous musical experience or your age, piano playing can be an extremely rewarding activity for anyone. At the very least, students always find my lessons both fun and educational (it really is possible to have both!).

For more mature students, learning is a great way of keeping the brain active during retirement.

I take great pride in seeing my students excel, to whatever level they want to personally achieve, and I make sure they feel satisfied with their progress after every lesson.

"I often think in music. I live my daydreams in music. I see my life in terms of music."

Albert Einstein
